Cultural Differences between the Philippines and Taiwan?

The Philippines is definitely a Christian nation, with a Muslim minority. Taiwan has never been either Christian or Muslim. The religious differences should not be underestimated. Taiwan was ruled by Japan for 50 years, I think, so there is a definitely influence from Japan, although I have heard Taiwan does not like to admit the connections to Japan, but I have heard from people that visited that the Japanese influence is noticeable.
