Does this poem have potential to be understood, enjoyed?

Comparing a category 5 hurricane with the birth of a child is some metaphor! I think the first two semi-colons and the colon are fine. And the rest of the punctuation seems good. I have never read anything like this before and for around twenty years I adjudicated poems in Essex (UK) competitions. I think that this at the time would have gone into my 'top pile' to be considered for a prize or commendation. Well thought out and very knowledgeable meteorological details.
