Should I trust Sam or not?

I met a guy a week ago. He has been calling me time to time and keeping me up to date with his out and abouts. I appreciated his openness towards me. Sam, i would say is totally my type he is tall and lean, Russian, 25 years old and has a descent job. he seems pretty cool plays basketball and tennis, he skateboards as well and has good taste in music. plus he cooks which is definately a big bonus to me. Sam lives in Dubai and i live in Abu Dhabi which is an hour and half away. Sam has been a gentlemen to me, respects my time and wishes. We went out on a first date today where he planned to pick me up in Abu dhabi after my classes and drive to dubai to show me around. We had lunch at this cozy japanese place and he was trying to impress me with his chopsticks skills. I'm Chinese which means i eat nuts with them as well. He asked me if i wanted to see where he works and lives and I said yes. On the way to his place he mentioned he was living with A FRIEND. then the bomb just dropped on me. apparently that FRIEND is an asian lady. Living in the emirates gives you a whole different concepts in these kinds of situations due to the arab- islamic culture. I made him explained the situation and he did by saying few years back he met this girl and they became friends she happend to have some financial issues and Sam offered her a place to stay. I felt weird about the fact that he is living with a women and i think that is normal. he made it clear that he does not have any relationship with her and mentioned he is not sleeping with her and never did. At first i was cool about it but i had some questions in the back of my head which is bothering me right now. Is any one out there having this kind of situation:? Please do give some advice. I happend to like Sam and i just want to keep my eyes open. Thank you.
