Why is pinning down Christians on a point as difficult as trying to eat clouds with one chopstick?

Sorry but it is so even for those within Christianity as believers themselves. There are now approximately 38,000 Christian denominations and most think the others are wrong in their interpretations of the Bible in respects, some a great deal more then others. Some so far that a great swath of the rest will say they aren't Christian at all. The Bible can be interpreted many ways, the way its been written and translated leaves many passages that in or out of context can be used in situations to back up a variety of differing beliefs and interpretations. Add to that the fact many Christians use the holy spirit to get what the Bible means. For many this means you get some feeling on a topic that backs what you want to believe or creates the greatest emotional response and that is the holy spirit guiding you to the truth. They then read the Bible through that lens looking for validation of what they want to see.
