Can you eat with chopsticks?

Can you eat with chopsticks? What kind do you prefer? I have a pair of plastic Chinese styled chopsticks (that i took from P.F. Chang's when i ate there one day), and now have a pair of Cherry stained wood Japanese styled ones. I am just learning how to eat with the thinner tipped Japanese styles.. Thank you for your answers, i am just curious.
