Is it weird for an asian girl to join a band?

I was wondering if it would be weird for an asian girl to play electric guitar in a band, sure call me shallow but i'm really insecure, like what if people's gonna make fun of me? I mean everyone around me is soooo racist!!!!!! Like i heard people joking "asians use chopsticks playing guitar" I mean wtf?! that's so racist!!
